Part-Time Engineer
Residence Inn Minneapolis Downtown / City Center
Schedule: Sundays 12:00 PM – 8:30 PM | Mondays 1:00 PM – 9:30 PM

The Residence Inn Minneapolis Downtown / City Center is currently seeking a reliable, motivated, and service-driven Part-Time Engineer to join our Engineering team. This position plays an essential role in ensuring our guests experience a comfortable, safe, and well-maintained environment.

Position Overview:
As a Part-Time Engineer, you will be responsible for responding to guest room and property-related maintenance issues, assisting with preventative maintenance tasks, and supporting various projects assigned by the Chief Engineer.

Key Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot and resolve common hotel maintenance issues, including but not limited to:

  • HVAC adjustments

  • Light plumbing (toilets, sinks, showers)

  • Electrical resets and lighting

  • Appliance and furniture repairs

  • TV/cable connection issues

• Understand and follow all emergency procedures and protocols for guest and property safety.

• Complete scheduled preventative maintenance (PM) of guest rooms.

• Assist with general upkeep and cosmetic touch-ups throughout the property as assigned.

• Communicate effectively with the Front Desk and other departments regarding maintenance requests and timelines.

Position Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

• Ability to remain on your feet and physically active throughout your shift.

• Strong problem-solving skills and basic knowledge of hotel systems and maintenance tools.

• Willingness to learn and follow direction from the Chief Engineer.

• Must be dependable and able to work the scheduled shifts reliably each week.

• Prior experience in hotel maintenance or a similar role is preferred but not required.
