Human Resources Coordinator

This job description highlights the main components of a HR Coordinator but is not inclusive of all activities that may be required.

SUMMARY:

The HR Coordinator  is responsible for managing the employment process, including orientation and training new staff members for the company. This position reports directly to the Human Resources Director.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Posts ads, arrange and conduct phone interviews and coordinate in person, and train new staff for the company.

2. Prepares HR documents, including job offers, job descriptions, on boarding and more.

3. Perform staffing duties, including dealing with under-staffing, resolving disputes, terminating employees, and administering disciplinary procedures.

4. Conduct exit interviews with terminating employees, including identifying reasons for employee resignations.

5. Reply to employees’ queries and respond in a timely manner.

6. Revise and update company policies and procedures.

7. Help maintain company boards, awards programs and recognition.

8. Maintain records and compile reports concerning personnel-related data.

9. Analyze and modify compensation and benefits policies to establish competitive programs and ensure compliance with legal and safety requirements.

10. Advise on organizational policy matters such as equal employment opportunity and sexual harassment and recommend any needed changes.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree and/or minimum of 2 years of work experience in Human Resources.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

Knowledge of regulatory compliance laws. Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction. Knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training, compensation and benefits, labor relations and negotiation, and personnel information systems. Experience in hospitality preffered by not required. Computer skills including the Microsoft Office products. Ability to analyze and solve problems. Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork.

Job Type: Full Time Hourly

Pay: $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: Monday to Friday 8:30-5pm
