Director of Rooms
Compensation: Up to $95,000 plus bonus
Position Summary
The Director of Rooms provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for the hotel's Rooms Division, including Housekeeping, Laundry, Guest Services, and Shuttle Operations. This role is responsible for delivering exceptional guest experiences, maximizing operational efficiency, driving revenue performance, and developing high-performing teams while ensuring the highest standards of service, cleanliness, and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Recruit, train, coach, and lead the Guest Services, Housekeeping, Laundry, and Shuttle teams to deliver exceptional service and operational excellence.
- Maximize room revenue and occupancy by analyzing daily business trends, rate strategies, and inventory, making adjustments as needed.
- Prepare occupancy and revenue forecasts while monitoring labor costs through effective scheduling and staffing practices.
- Review rate variances, monitor credit reports, and maintain accurate daily house counts to support sound operational decisions.
- Develop and implement housekeeping and laundry processes that improve productivity, efficiency, and cost control while minimizing waste.
- Establish quality assurance systems, including inspections, checklists, and operational logs, to ensure consistent cleanliness and presentation throughout the property.
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement by identifying, developing, and retaining top talent.
- Proactively address operational challenges and guest concerns to ensure timely, effective resolutions.
- Develop, implement, and maintain standard operating procedures for all Rooms Division departments.
- Collaborate with hotel leadership during the annual budgeting and financial planning process.
- Ensure compliance with all sanitation, safety, and company standards.
- Communicate effectively with guests, team members, and leadership, ensuring timely and accurate information sharing.
- Build strong cross-functional relationships to promote collaboration and a positive work environment.
- Perform all responsibilities in accordance with company policies, procedures, and brand standards while supporting overall hotel goals.
- Represent InterContinental MSP Hotel professionally at all times, maintaining a positive image with guests, partners, and the community.
Qualifications
- Minimum of five years of progressive leadership experience in Rooms Operations or a comparable management role within an upscale, full-service hotel.
- Demonstrated success leading multiple operational departments and managing high-performing teams.
- Strong financial acumen with experience in forecasting, labor management, occupancy analysis, and revenue optimization.
